Warning: Path Closure
A fallen beech tree has led to the long-term closure of a section of the popular Wye Valley Walk in woods near the start at Chepstow. The fallen tree and a landslip is blocking the route between Giant's Cave and Lower Wyndcliff to the North of Chepstow Racecourse and will not be cleared until late 2008 at the earliest. A diversion takes walkers out of the woods into fields opposite the racecourse, followed by a short stretch along the A466 (on pavement) before turning left onto a quiet country road heading to Lower Wyndcliff and Upper Wyndcliff.
