Wye Valley Walk Path Closure

The popular long distance Wye Valley Walk will be undergoing an extensive facelift over the spring and summer. The Overlooking the Wye Landscape Partnership Scheme, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is carrying out repairs to some of the Walk's most famous viewpoints through Piercefield Woods at the Alcove, the Grotto, Double View, Giants Cave and Lovers Leap. The repair and conservation of these areas will be extensive and hazardous to the safety of the general public which necessitates closure for six months. Diversion signs have been erected and the diversion map is available for download here. For further information contact publicrightsofway@monmouthshire.gov.uk or telephone Monmouthshire Countryside Services on 01633 644850 . Information is also available from Kate Biggs at Overlooking the Wye kate@overlookingthewye.org.uk or telephone 01600 891526
