Getting Around

Walking

One of the best ways to enjoy the area is on foot. Use public footpaths to wander off the beaten track and you'll soon discover some of the area's lesser-known beauty spots, the wonderful wildlife, and evidence of the area's rich cultural and industrial heritage.

By Bus

Enjoy the slow pace of the countryside and the tranquil surroundings by leaving your car behind. Make use of the reliable local services that link many of the villages and towns along the Wye Valley. Use them to take a scenic tour or for a convenient "lift back" when you are out walking and don't want to retrace your steps. Pick up your copy of 'Discover the Wye Valley on foot and by bus' from Tourist Information Centres and local village shops - or e-mail information@wyevalleyaonb.org.uk for a copy to be sent to you. Published by the Wye Valley AONB, it contains bus timetable information as well as walks and tours that make use of the local buses.

If you are planning a visit to the area, a useful travel information website is the National Travel Line. In Herefordshire, there is a journey planner on the Herefordshire Buses Website.
